About Healing Touch

Developed by Janet Mentgen, RN, in 1989, Healing Touch is a heart-centered technique that focuses on the human biofield or energy field around the body.  Healing Touch Practitioners (HTP) apply techniques learned through 5 levels of rigorous, standardized curriculum in which the practitioner’s hands are used in gentle, light, or near-body touch with the goal of balancing the human energy system.  Healing Touch is deeply rooted in the ancient practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Teachings as well as the current energy sciences of Quantum Physics and Energy Psychology.

Healing Touch is used in hospitals, hospice and long term care, as well as private practices. During a typical session clients lie fully clothed on a massage table in a relaxing environment. The practitioner uses her hands to first assess the human energy field and then clear and balance the energy as needed using near-body or gentle contact.  The result is an improvement in the energy biofield to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Practitioners all over the world follow the standards of Healing Touch Professional Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice, and carry liability insurance.
